Known mostly as "Dr. Rob," Dr. Rob Waldrop was born in West Virginia and grew up in the small town of Danville, PA. When he observed a root canal procedure at the age of twelve, he set his sights on becoming a dentist, albeit in a less-than-direct route. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. Upon graduation, he obtained a job as a dental assistant at a federally qualified health center prior to earning his Master of Science in Biology from the Millersville University of Pennsylvania. His thesis on REM-like sleep states in the common cuttlefish Sepia officinalis was published in the Public Library of Science.
After graduate school, Dr. Rob worked as a chemist and microbiologist for two years at a chemical manufacturing facility in Hanover, PA and spent another year as a scientist in quality control at a major pharmaceutical company in Marietta, PA. His dental school training led him back to West Virginia where he graduated from the West Virginia University School of Dentistry with the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery. When he graduated from dental school, he chose to complete an optional year of advanced training in General Practice Residency at the Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital in Lancaster, PA.
Dr. Rob has been committed to public health since his time as a dental assistant. He believes he has a responsibility to provide ethical dental treatment to everyone. Oral health is correlated with overall systemic health and he will do what he can to improve the lives of others. During dental school, he participated in a dental mission trip to San Lucas, Guatemala as well as Mission of Mercy in Pittsburgh, PA. Dr. Rob is a proud member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Pennsylvania Academy of General Dentistry.
Outside of the office, Dr. Rob enjoys playing the piano and cello. He also enjoys building LEGO sets, listening to classical music, film scores, and studying the physics and engineering of roller coasters.
Dr. Allysa (Lysa) Adams is thrilled to be home in Pennsylvania to practice dentistry! Like her parents and grandparents, she is a native Pennsylvanian, born and raised in the suburbs of Pittsburgh. In college, she moved east to New Jersey to study Molecular Biology at Princeton University. She then moved to Boston and earned a Master’s Degree in Genetics at Harvard University, where she studied craniofacial development at Boston Children’s Hospital. After earning her DMD at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, she completed further training in general dentistry and community health through the Lutheran Medical Center AEGD residency program in Boston.
Dr. Adams believes that dentists have a social responsibility to serve the communities in which they live. She believes that oral health is a critical component of overall health, and that dentistry is both a science and an art. Her goal is to treat her patients with honesty and kindness, and to help them achieve their own goals regarding the look and feel of their smiles.
Dr. Adams moved to Lancaster with her husband, who joined the faculty of Franklin & Marshall College as an Assistant Professor of Psychology. In her free time, she enjoys painting, hiking, cooking, and spending time with their much-loved dog, Reuben.
Dr. Karsten Grinderslev (Dr. "G") was born in Denmark and grew up in the Hershey region. He attended Muhlenberg College where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology. After obtaining his DMD at Temple University of Dentistry, he treated patients in the Lancaster region for 17 years before joining Sardina Dental Group.
Dr. G focuses on treating each patient with honesty and integrity and aims to create a treatment pathway that leads the patient to long term oral health. He has volunteered at events providing free dental care for veterans and has traveled to Venezuela on a mission trip for rural underserved areas. Dr. G has also pursued continuing education in oral surgery, endodontics, clear aligners, and implantology. In 2018 he was awarded Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
Away from the office he enjoys kayaking, auto racing, collecting sports cards, and spending time with his wife Jess and their two sons.
As part of our commitment to sustainability and reducing our carbon footprint, we believe it is important to take action and implement eco-friendly solutions. The solar panels we've installed on the roof of our office will not only help us save on energy costs but will also significantly reduce our carbon emissions, making our practice more environmentally responsible.
