Tooth Extractions in Landisville, PA

Avoid the spread of infection and more serious problems with a tooth extraction.

Dental Extractions

While we will do everything possible to save your teeth, sometimes a tooth must be removed. A tooth may need to be extracted if it is already loose, is broken beyond repair, is abscessed and cannot be saved, or is causing crowding. When extraction is recommended, the tooth should be removed as soon as possible to avoid the spread of infection and more serious problems. At Sardina Dental Group, we do most extractions in office. If needed, we offer Nitrous Oxide gas for those who may be nervous about the procedure.

What to expect when having a tooth extracted

   • Before beginning, Dr. Sardina or Dr. Adams will first get the area completely numb. During the process, you will feel pressure, and may hear some cracking noises, as broken down teeth will often come out in several pieces. If necessary, the dentist may need to remove a small amount of bone next to the tooth. After the extraction has been completed, sutures may be placed, and you will be asked to bite down on cotton gauze. You will be asked to eat soft foods, avoid smoking and drinking from a straw for several days following the extraction.
